'STORM' - THE WINGED CAT

& HIS LITTLE BAT BUDDY

	I took a plain cat stuffed toy, darkened his fur altered his tail so that it can be posed and coloured his eyes green. (Hover your mouse over image for before picture!)
	I also gave him a purple velvet collar with a bell (to try and warn the bats he chases!...it doesn't work though, he still managed tocatch one.)
	Next I created his black wings with real coloured feathers on a light weight base, these wings are attached with small velcro tabs...so they can be carefully positioned in different ways.

Lastly I made his little bat, he is made from velvety black material with red bead eyes, and vinyl, veined wings.

Storm's story...

"Once upon a time when the earth was young and magic still filled it, the creatures we now think of as myths roamed our planet. Unicorns, Dragons and such were as common place as the animals that inhabit our world today. This creature owes his existance not to nature, but to the well intentioned meddling of a human...

He was once the familiar to a young witch, she was the one who was instrumental in his creation. Her favourite creatures were cats and ravens, infact she had one of each as pets...but neither was quite familiar material, so an idea started to form in her mind. Using her blossoming natural talents she performed a spell on her two pets, magically mingling their essences to create Storm. He was named for the fact that a storm raged on the night of his 'birth', however his young mistress soon discovered that he the name suited his character too. He was a difficult and rebellious creature, and in a short time she realised that he would never make a reliable familiar and companion for her...so she set him free. Now he loves nothing more than swooping through the night sky, chasing his favourite prey of bats!"
