STAR WARS DRESS

Here we have the costume I made for the first night of one of the Starwars films (not the most flattering of photos of me...lol). It is based on an outfit worn by Queen Amidala in 'The Phantom Menace' (in fact it was worn by her body guard who was posing as her)

As always this is not trying to be an exact replica, but the dedicated Star Wars fans who saw me dressed in it all said it was a good effort.

Move the mouse over the images to show the original outfit from the film.

It consisted of a feather head-dress attached to a black cowl with gold filagree ear covers. The dress started out as a pale blue/grey summer dress, covered with two types of lace, with loose sleeve/cloak detail...and a long black overskirt, open at the front.
The costume was finished off with a black beaded 'necklace' worn on the forehead, white face paint and trademark tiny red lips, and black dots on the cheeks.

This costume sold to a lady in Australia. She was extremely glad to have won it.
